The Eyes, Lips, Nose and Ears. Pencil Portraits of Hollywood Actresses, Pencil Drawings of Celebrities.

There are books to read; there are teachers to instruct.

But art is mainly the offspring of intuition. Here the pencil portrait of Jennifer Lopez gives us an idea of how the intuitive efforts put into a pencil drawing can be made so interesting to look at.

The artist here had spared no efforts in the shading aspect of the pencil drawing. Look at the lips of the model, Jennifer

Lopez and you would find how paramount is the importance of caring for the proportion of various parts of a face while drawing a pencil portrait. (Image courtesy Photobucket )

The Portrait

Here is a pencil drawing that depicts her charm and beauty. Her face is drawn in the painting style used by many master artists. Perhaps her neck is drawn larger than the life here. But all of her beauty has been kept intact by the master artist who has drawn this pencil drawing of the actress Megan Fox.

The Art

Here in this pencil portrait, the artist has depicted the skill of lining and shading. By varying the pressure on the pencil, the lighter and darker tones are beautifully created. Keeping control over the movement of the pencil tip would help in creating such a smooth form of a charming face. In this artwork, we can see that the fairly continuous lining work has produced a highlighted mass of beautiful hair. similarly, the darker shade used in eyes and lips has made these parts more outspoken in fully artistic terms.

HATCHING

We can see here the artistic technique which is used to create tonal values in the drawing. It is called hatching which is done by drawing lines, either parallel or crossed. These closely spaced linings would inject the effect of good shading work. The lightness of the hatching in the neck area of the above drawing gives us an idea of how it can create a beautiful light and shadow effect.

Look at the thickness of lines in the hair, too. In all the applications lining, shading and hatching make the overall drawing an artwork to be enjoyed.
